A rustic overnight experience
Spring Cabin Campout

It's a low-impact way for Pack 5 Cub Scouts to spend the night in a rustic Boy Scout cabin with other members of our Pack, Adult Leaders, and your parents. The goal is to give Cub Scouts an opportunity to experience the same sort of overnight that they'll enjoy when they get older, members of a Boy Scout Troop.

In this case, of course, it's been adjusted to make it age-appropriate for first- through fourth-graders — managed and supervised by trained adults.

The Spring Cabin Campout is a tradition started in 2006 by then-Cubmaster David Regensburger, with arrangements through the Michigan Department of Natural Resources parks and facilities. Initially it was thought that we'd experience various places around Michigan. But in 2008 it was decided to make BSA Camp Teetonkah our permanent location for this event. [link]
